Specifically focusing on ensuring that Product Safetytasking and activities are completed across multiple systems insupport of project milestones through all stages of EngineeringLife Cycle Management Supporting Hazard Identification and Analysisstudies Assisting with or generating safetyreports Ensuringthe Integrated Development Team operates within the project SafetyManagement System Liaisingwith other Integrated Development Teams and the Whole Boat SafetyTeam
Your skills andexperiences:
* Obtained or predicted 2:2 in aBachelor’s or Master’s Engineering degree
Anunderstanding of ‘Safety and Systems Engineering’ and of the‘Engineering Life Cycle Management’ Experience working and delivering tasks as part of team,but also capable of working and delivering tasksunsupervised Theability to be agile in working practices and customerexpectations Self-motivated, with good verbal and writtencommunication skills Practical experience as a Product Safety Engineer in themaritime defence sector is preferable, although experience in othersectors will be considered

The Safety & EnvironmentalTeam: If you are interested inunderstanding how submarines operate and how the Royal Navy operatethe submarines, then this role is for you. As a Product SafetyEngineer you will assist System Engineers in influencing submarinesystems and capability development. You will develop anunderstanding of how submarine systems work and work together andensure that the system of system interactions considers ProductSafety appropriately. The role will provide theopportunity to be involved in all aspects of safety management andsafety case delivery. This includes safety requirements capture andmanagement, hazard identification and analysis, hazard datamanagement, application of the ALARP principle,creation/maintenance of safety documentation and continuousimprovement of the safety management system. The role provides areal opportunity to gain a broad overview of a complex system (i.e.submarine).
