We are looking for an enthusiastic French Speaking Copy Editor to support our external marketing and communications across the Computacenter Group.
So, what do we do?
The Translation Service is a global function, responsible for making sure that our translated content is accurate, impactful and matches Computacenters style across languages. We use state-of-the-art digital translation tools you will be the human factor to make sure that the messaging has the right impact.
As the Copy Editor you will be responsible for taking machine-translated copy and ensuring its accuracy, clarity, and consistency with our tone of voice. This role involves reviewing and editing articles, reports, marketing materials, and other written content. You will collaborate closely with writers, editors, and other team members to maintain high standards of quality and precision in all published materials.
The role will suit someone who is experienced in Copy Editing and reviewing other peoples written work. Previous IT industry experience isnt essential for this role, you should have a desire to work in an autonomous role, taking responsibility for your performance and to help drive up quality at every step.
This role will offer you the chance to drive you career in several directions. You will have a level of autonomy to develop this position, working closely with several different stakeholders internally.
What youll do
Content editing and quality assurance:
Proofread and edit content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style consistency.
Ensure tone, clarity, and flow of written materials.
Maintain and enforce adherence to house style guides and editorial standards.
Identify and correct inconsistencies and errors in content.
Fully translate certain document types which cannot be machine translated
Collaboration:
Work closely with writers and other editors to refine and improve content.
Provide constructive feedback to writers to enhance the quality of their work.
Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
Maintain organized records of edited content and revisions.
Help the team manage the processes around translation and review.
What youll need
Fluent in French
Proven experience as a copy editor or similar editorial role.
Strong portfolio of edited written work.
Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, punctuation, and style.
Attention to detail and a keen eye for errors.
Ability to learn about the language from new areas, technologies or industries.
Proficiency in using editorial and proofreading tools (e.g., Microsoft suite, Grammarly).
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
