Role: File Checker REF 365479 Contract Length: 3 months from start date Location: Nettleham, Lincolnshire IR35: Inside Pay Rate to Intermediary: £19.37 per hour Spinwell is recruiting for a File Checker for an excellent opportunity within the public sector. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FILE CHECKER The postholder will work as part of a busy criminal justice team. You are required to work in collaboration with investigating officers and police colleagues to undertake file reviews at the pre-charge, post charge and upgrade stage to ensure that police files are compliant with the National File Standard (NFS) and other relevant policies or national guidelines, such as the Directors Guidance on Charging 6th Edition. The role involves liaising with, supporting, and providing feedback to officers regarding case file quality and content to ensure effective and efficient case progression, ensuring that files progress through the criminal justice system in a timely manner and in line with national timescales. The postholder is required to liaise with a wide range of external stakeholders, such as HMCTS, CPS and other Police Forces and will be responsible for inputting, updating, maintenance and quality control of information onto Police, National and other force computer systems. An understanding of the criminal justice system is beneficial for the role. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE FILE CHECKER Communicates effectively and the ability to demonstrate the use of interviewing techniques. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines. Uses listening and questioning techniques to elicit relevant information. Demonstrates a methodical approach to work with the ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise. Demonstrates the ability to check, collate and analyse information ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
