We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Finance Director for Wellness Solutions at Holland & Barrett. You will be a key strategic finance business partner for leadership of Wellness Solutions and the Commercial and Science teams. This role is predominantly focused on the financial oversight and strategic development of a wellbeing app, strategic technology platforms and innovative Wellness Solutions platforms. The Finance Director- Wellness Solutions will play a key role in building financial processes in this start-up environment, ensuring financial sustainability, maximizing investments, and driving growth through data-led decision-making. They will collaborate closely with the technology, product development, and commercial teams to ensure the app's commercial success while also shaping growth strategies and managing the broader division's investment profile and cost base.
Being part of the H&B&ME leadership team means this role is at the heart of the management team and contributes to the broader agenda.
The role also plays a key leadership role as a senior leader in H&B finance, including being a key contributor to the functional strategy, vision, and culture. The role holder will be a role model for others and support the functional development and our Finance 2.0 Transformation programme.
The Role:

* Data-Driven Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial oversight for the development and scaling of the HB&ME platform and other proposition launches within Wellness Solutions.
* Finance process scale up: Architect and direct the establishment of financial processes as the businesses scale up, including systems, processes and control around revenue recognition and invoicing.
* Investment & ROI Optimization: Ensure that investments in app & platform development and propositions, marketing, and customer acquisition drive sustainable returns.
* Commercial Partnership: Work closely with leadership, product managers, and digital teams to align financial planning with tech roadmaps.
* Scalability & Monetization: Develop, implement and analyse monetization strategies, such as subscriptions, in-app purchases, and premium features, optimising for CLTV.
* Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize financial modelling, forecasting, and data analytics to guide strategic growth, including unit economics.
* Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure financial governance and compliance with digital and data regulations.
* Financial function leader: Contribute to the strategy and direction of the function and drive finance Transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial process set up and scale: Establishing the right sized systems, processes and controls as the businesses scale up.
* Tech Business Partnering: Act as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO of Wellbeing Solutions, MD of HB&ME, MD of Wellness Solutions, and Tech leads, driving commercial decision-making for the app.
* Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning specific to the platform development, marketing, and scaling, including establishing a monthly rolling forecasts to grip and control financial direction.
* Revenue & Monetization Strategies: Develop financial strategies for app monetization, including subscription models, partnerships, and pricing strategies.
* Data optimisation: Collaborate with our data team to ensure that we are measuring/monitoring the assumptions that underpin the business model.
* Performance Management: Develop and track key financial performance metrics for the platform, providing actionable insights to optimize user acquisition and retention.
* Investment & Growth Strategies: Assess funding opportunities, business partnerships, and technology investments.
* Cost Control & Operational Efficiency: Identify cost-saving initiatives while ensuring quality and operational effectiveness of digital services.
* Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, digital compliance, and internal controls.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate financial performance and strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
* Functional development: A key leadership role as a senior leader in H&B finance, contributing to the functional strategy, vision, and culture.
Location: This role is based in London, and is required to travel to our Nuneaton Hub and occasionally to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days presence in the offices.
Key Requirements:
* Experience of scaling or starting up a Tech based business, ideally health tech platform.
* Working experience of developing and monetising Technology platforms, commercial wellness propositions, and/or Apps.
* In-depth understanding of financial planning and analysis principles, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance measurement frameworks.
* In-depth knowledge of finance business partnering and decision support.
* Strong grasp of change management methodologies and their application in transformation projects.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
* Advanced influencing and communication skills to effectively engage and align stakeholders.
* Proven project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver complex projects efficiently.
* Demonstrated success in a start-up and scaling up a revenue-based Technology platform.
* Significant experience in managing and improving FP&A processes in a fast-paced, complex organizational environment.
* Track record of delivering measurable financial and operational improvements through strategic initiatives.
