Virginia Peninsula Community College is a two-year institution of higher education established as a part of a statewide system of community colleges. It primarily serves the residents of the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, and the counties of James City and York.

Bring your Training experience and initiative to our Corporate Training and Development Team to collaborate and support Virginia Peninsula Community College Workforce Development Corporate Training programs.
Workforce development programs prioritize industry credential attainment and skill enhancement. Teaching experience is helpful, but not required. Professional experience and appropriate certification are critical. Our students expect to learn from seasoned professionals who can share their knowledge and relevant experience in the field. Students can be a mixture of novices, partially trained, or experienced technicians seeking a credential.
Non-Credit Adjunct Instructors are part-time and contracted on a course-by-course basis, as needed. Contracts may include a combination of teaching contact hours, classroom preparation and closure activities; curriculum design and lesson preparation; participant advising and support; and participant assignment assessment and evaluation.Training is on campus at the Hampton or Historic Triangle campuses or conducted at off-site locations during the day, evening, or weekend. Some training may be available on a virtual platform.

1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
2. Combination of education, industry credentials, and experience to demonstrate content expertise.
3. Ability to apply IT systems and modern technology to develop training modules needed in online platforms.
4. Ability to analyze the effectiveness of the training and provide feedback on the outcome of the workshop.
5. In-depth knowledge of E-Learning activities, remote techniques, and methodologies to provide the best training for the learner.
6. Results oriented with excellent interpersonal skills with experience teaching adult learners in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications:
7. Experience in industry or holds professional certificates.
8. Experience in content areas such as supervisory training, leadership development for supervisors, communication and interpersonal skills, public speaking, conflict resolution, diversity, equity and inclusion, process improvement, train-the-trainer or other professional programs in delivering hands-on or virtual interactive instruction.
