Responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the Alliance Evidential Property service operating across both Dorset and Devon and Cornwall Force areas, this will include the strategic ownership of the implementation of the Evidential Property Business case over the next 3-5 years.
Responsible for the Force Property Strategy & Policy for the effective management and co-ordination of the Force’s evidential and non-evidential property in line with legislative and evidential requirements and their integration with other associated systems and procedures.
Accountable for the continuity of evidence being managed within the Property System and the safe and lawful disposal of property taken into Police possession.
This post is based in Plympton, Devon and its sole responsibility is for all aspects of Evidential Property management and storage for Devon & Cornwall Police.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Act as the strategic lead and Head of Profession for Evidential Property Management across both forces with overall responsibility for the delivery and development of the evidential property function.
2. Develop Evidential Property Management policy across both forces and promote quality and adherence to legislative and operational requirements with key stakeholders to mitigate risk associated with compromise of evidential property continuity.
3. As head of Profession provide specialist advice and knowledge to senior leads within both forces to include Executive officers and staff, representing the service with stakeholders both internal and external and at local, regional and national level.
4. Develop and maintain property management training and awareness products across both forces.
5. To develop robust audit procedures and liaise with external audit service providers to agree terms of reference and sign off audit reports.
