Job Description:
Assistant General Manager | Full Time
Exciting new opportunity to be part of the team of a brand new restaurant opening early June!
At wagamama, we’re an eating house for the soul. With over 160 UK restaurants and growing, our purpose is to nourish the world from bowl to soul, inspired by fast-paced Japanese ramen bars since 1992.
We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to join us on our continuous journey of true nourishment.
The Role |
As an Assistant General Manager, you'll be an integral part of the restaurant leadership team, supporting the General Manager in leading the restaurant in the wagamama way. You’ll live and breathe our people promise, values, and embody core leadership behaviours. You'll inspire and motivate your team to provide exceptional service to our guests whilst always striving to exceed expectations. You'll have a real passion for people, food, and hospitality and be driven to make positive change.
We offer a brilliant salary, bonus opportunities per year, and tips.
Additional benefits include:
1. Dedicated 6-week training programme
2. Free wagamama food allowance on every shift
3. 50% discount at wagamama and 30% off all other TRG brands for family and friends
4. Internal progression opportunities if you're aspiring to become a General Manager in the near future
5. Kintsugi wellness: access to councillors, cycle to work scheme, discounted gym and leisure
6. Family-friendly policy: any expectant person or anyone adopting a child will receive 26 weeks full pay and 13 weeks half pay
7. Financial wellbeing support: access to loans repaid through your salary for those ‘strapped for cash’ moments in life
What We Look For |
1. An experienced hospitality manager able to lead a restaurant team with positive behaviour and actions, driving performance in a fast-paced, complex environment
2. A strong communicator who ensures your team feels heard and supported
3. Experience in understanding the financial performance of a restaurant and identifying opportunities
4. Ability to manage a restaurant and labour budget
5. A passionate leader with experience in managing your team's performance and development
6. An individual who leads to inspire and engage their team to nourish and flourish in their role and career
7. A forward-thinking problem solver, able to think on your feet and make quick decisions
The Wagamama Way |
Kaizen, meaning ‘good change’, is the philosophy that sits at the core of who we are. It shapes every dish we create and pushes us to find better ways in all we do. Our food, how we think, how we work, it has to be fresh. We are committed to championing change in both our communities and the impact on the planet.
We celebrate difference, appreciating personality over perfection. We promise to have your back, working together to build close bonds of trust and support, creating safe spaces for real conversations.
All we ask is for you to dish up what makes you different.
**If you are successful in the interview process, you will need to attend a 7-week training period in the United Kingdom; all travel and accommodation expenses will be covered.
Be you, be wagamama.
