Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are recruiting on behalf of their established public sector client for a permanent Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Salary is up to £55,000 + 41 days annual leave and a highly competitive pension (up to 16% employer contribution). They also offer flexible hybrid working on a 35-hour working week with a minimum requirement to be in the office 2 days a week. The organisation may also consider part-time individuals (28 hours a week).
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will oversee and complete all financial accounting & reporting for the organisation including statutory accounting, VAT & Tax reporting while also supervising an assistant accountant & payroll officer. You will review the balance sheet & complete & submit all required returns. You will prepare monthly cashflow forecasts & maintain the fixed asset register. You will also be the key point of contact for the external audit and liaise with various internal & external stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a Qualified Accountant with a strong career focus on financial accounting. You will have experience of completing statutory reporting, VAT & ideally corporation tax. You will be experienced in cashflow monitoring & reporting. You will be a business partner who can liaise with various internal & external stakeholders. You will ideally have experience of people supervision, but this is not essential.
