We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Research Administrator to support innovative projects and drive excellence in research operations. The Research Administrator will play a pivotal role in supporting the Faculty of Arts, Design, and Media’s Research, Enterprise, and Innovation team at Birmingham City University. Working closely with the Associate Dean (Research, Innovation, and Enterprise), the post-holder will facilitate the smooth operation of research and innovation activities, ensuring effective administrative support for projects, events, and collaborations. This role is integral to advancing the faculty’s research objectives, enhancing enterprise initiatives, and fostering innovation, contributing directly to the university's mission to drive impactful research and creative excellence. You will be responsible to co-ordinate and maintain records, including inputting data using various software such as spreadsheets/databases and provide advice to colleagues on university processes and regulations (e.g., submitting timesheets, claiming expenses, raising purchase orders). You will also record, compile, transcribe, and distribute minutes, action points, or notes; follow up on action items and maintain records for future use, maintain and provide calendars of team events and activities, organising attendance and ensuring scheduling procedures support strong participation and handle general administrative tasks. You will have a relevant vocational qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, or equivalent work experience and skills. Experience in a similar office environment, including working independently and without direct supervision and a good standard of literacy and numeracy, equivalent to GCSE English and Maths.
