1. 1. To be aware of the patients physical, emotional and social needs and to report accurately to the midwife 2. To establish good relationships with the patients, relatives and colleagues; ensuring accurate and effective communication at all times. 3. To be able to self-manage and organize own day to day tasks and activities against care delivery plans, ensuring that they follow standard operating procedures and established protocols. Under the direction of the midwife, be able to adjust plans in response to service needs. 4. To demonstrate independent inquiry, through knowledge and experience within remit of role. 5. To demonstrate effective application of problem solving and planning skills and a broad skill base related to their practice. 6. To maintain accurate and legible records as appropriate under the direction of the midwife. 7. To contribute to the maintenance of a safe working environment. 8. To engage in, promote and support others to undertake routine surveys and audits relevant to their work 9. The role holder reflects on and actively seeks ways to improve their own performance. 10. They demonstrate qualities of leadership, supporting change management, as well as offering comments and suggestions for improvement to procedures and service development.
