Boston Borough Council are looking to recruit a Waste Supervisor to task and support our Refuse Crews. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Operations Team Leader to oversee and manage our workforce, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in all tasks.
Team Management: Working with and arranging shifts, allocating work, rounds and tasking the crews
Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is performed safely and to specified standards. Document inspections, keeping up to date risk assessments and address any deficiencies. Maintain high health and safety standards.
Training: Deliver initial and periodic induction training to new and existing employees. Ensure all training materials and practices are effectively communicated and monitor employee performance against training standards.
Equipment Management: Issue and ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain appropriate records and conduct regular inspections.
Support and Compliance: Working and supporting the Operations Supervisor to ensure the depot & fleet are compliant with the O'Licence.
HR Duties: Recruitment, performance reviews, and appraisals. Approve leave requests, time sheets, and supporting staff welfare through the Councils policies
The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities to lead a successful team. Also, the ability to motivate and have strong problem solving skills is key for this role. Early starts, bank holidays and occasion weekend work are essential for this role. Category B driving licence is essential.
