Narratology is currently recruiting for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller on behalf of our award-winning global exporter client. This role will make a key contribution to the leadership of the Company through accountability for financial control, planning and guidance across its distinct entities and will further develop as the company grows and evolves. The Financial Controller will be responsible for Finance, HR, IT and Sales Administration in the Company, ensuring adequate resource and fit for purpose systems and processes. Part of the senior management team, theyll lead in management meetings, providing insight and strategic guidance to drive business growth and maximise profitability. Theyll ensure pricing strategy is correct to manage target margins, regularly reviewing for change and setting new pricing strategies in particular with expansion into new geographies. The role holder will work closely with operations and sales colleagues on customer reporting, optimising the ERP system for management information to aid reporting anddata-driven decision making. Theyll lead on budget planning in collaboration with the MD and department heads, taking into account strategy, sales expectations and resources required to deliver upon these. Theyll prepare monthly management reports to include management accounts, monthly sales, variance analysis, customer profitability and stocktake reviews as well as overseeing sales ledger and monthly credit control. The Financial Controller will prepare year-end statements working with external auditors and will keep abreast of potential grant opportunities, liaising with external partners ontax planning and compliance including R&D and Patent Box claims. ACA / ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant. Relevant post qualification experience as a Financial Controller or equivalent in industry. Evidence of providing effective financial guidance and of creating financial strategy to support overall company objectives. Experience of building strong working relationships with management colleagues and of operating as part of an effective leadership team. Commercially astute with strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Proficient in IT and familiar with the use of an ERP system.
