Role: Quality Assurance Coordinator
Location: Leeming Bar, Northallerton, North Yorkshire
We are pleased to announce an opening for a Quality Assurance Coordinator. In this position, you will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and be integral in upholding the overall quality and compliance of our products.
Your key responsibilities will encompass the development and implementation of quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and monitoring performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Your role responsibilities will include:
o Establish processes to ensure product quality meets industry standards, conduct quality checks on production lines, perform regular hygiene inspections, and frequently review existing quality systems for effectiveness.
o Oversee internal inspections of manufacturing, hygiene, production, and packaging; prepare detailed reports. Keep current on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
o Collaborate with teams to identify and implement process optimizations. Assist the Goods-in Inspector with raw material and packaging evaluations, support the Factory System Manager in monitoring product quantities, and aid the Quality Manager in analysing customer complaints for pattern identification and improvement opportunities.
o Monitor performance metrics to identify trends and anomalies, recommending solutions as needed. Collect moisture sensor data, upload files to scanning systems, and review relevant documentation.
o Help create and keep up-to-date important documents like standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
o Step in for the technical administrator when they are absent by creating incident reports, updating test results, clearing out foreign object collection boxes, checking records, and logging microbiological samples.
o Help plan and take part in internal and external audits to ensure we follow the necessary regulations and standards.
o Conduct training sessions on quality standards and best practices to promote continuous improvement and engage employees in quality initiatives.
o Address customer complaints promptly and effectively by investigating root causes through process document reviews and production line checks and implement preventive measures.
o Assist with microbiological investigations by collecting samples for retesting and analysing failed tests to determine causes and implement corrective actions. Utilize the quality control hold system to isolate substandard products or raw materials and manage their return, reprocessing, or release.
o Conduct daily taste tests, resolve issues, initiate early product releases as needed, and log reference samples.
To be considered for this role we require the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
o A degree in a relevant field, such as Quality Assurance or a related discipline.
o Proven experience in quality assurance or a related role, preferably within a regulated industry.
o In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 or equivalent standards.
o A proactive and hands-on approach, with extensive experience in conducting audits and inspections, as well as implementing corrective actions.
o Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards applicable to the industry.
o Certification in quality management, such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
o Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
