ABOUT ZENOBE
Our goal is to make clean power accessible, to accelerate the shift to zero carbon power and transport.
We’re building and operating the world’s most sophisticated battery systems to enable the uptake of more renewable power and accelerating fleet electrification, de-risking the transition to zero-emission transport at scale. We’ve been consistently innovative since we were founded in 2017, achieving major industry firsts and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers. At the end of their life, we repurpose electric vehicle batteries to provide clean power at depots, on construction sites and film sets.
Today we have 730 MW of grid scale battery storage operational and under construction and are the largest owner and operator of EV buses in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, supporting over 1,000 electric vehicles worldwide. In our first five years we have raised nearly £1.8 billion in funding and have expanded into other markets such as the US. THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director of Procurement and Contracts – EV will lead the global procurement strategy for electric vehicle infrastructure, including vehicle and charger procurement, battery replacement sourcing, and supplier contract management. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will establish a best-in-class procurement framework, manage supplier relationships, and drive commercial excellence to support the company's growth and operational needs.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
* Develop and execute a global procurement strategy that supports rapid expansion into new markets, including strategic partnerships with EV infrastructure and charger OEMs.
* Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships across multiple geographies, ensuring cost efficiency, sustainability, and best-in-class technical performance.
* Lead high-value contract negotiations to secure favourable terms, mitigate risks, and ensure business continuity.
* Standardise and optimise procurement processes in alignment with international best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Identify and manage supply chain risks, resolving key commercial disputes and ensuring operational resilience.
* Drive cost efficiency and operational improvements through strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, and continuous optimisation.
* Build and lead a high-performing global procurement team, with strong local representation in key markets such as the USA, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
* Collaborate with internal teams (legal, corporate finance, and operations) to ensure seamless contract execution and compliance.
* Support the company’s rapid growth by developing procurement capabilities that enable expansion into emerging markets.
* Ensure ethical procurement practices and compliance with all relevant regulations.
* Represent procurement at the senior leadership level, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and key stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives.

* 10+ years’ experience in a procurement, contract management, or commercial environment, with a focus on EV infrastructure or mobility solutions.
* Proven track record in negotiating and managing large-scale procurement contracts within the EV sector.
* Adept at contracting managing large complex global supplier framework agreements for items such as chargers, transformers, batteries or similar Technologies
* Experience in developing strategic supplier relationships, particularly with vehicle and charger OEMs.
* Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics and procurement best practices.
* Ability to navigate complex, fast-paced environments and drive operational efficiency.
* Experience with construction subcontracting
* Experience leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple geographies.
* Strong business acumen and results-driven approach, aligning procurement strategies with broader company objectives.
* Knowledge of ERP systems and procurement analytics tools.
* Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
* RICS/CIPS/Supply Chain certification required (Chartered Member preferred).
Desirable Competencies:
* Experience working within the power, renewables, or e-mobility industries.
* Familiarity with emerging trends in EV fleet management and charging infrastructure.
* Knowledge of procurement regulations across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the USA, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
