We are looking for a full-time construction tutor based at our training centre in Exhall, Coventry.

The Role
Whilst working in this role you will help inspire and train 14–18 -year-old learners. This training runs alongside the learner’s school curriculum and gives disadvantaged learners the opportunity to re-engage in meaningful learning. At CBWA learner’s work towards a level 1 or level 2 multi-skills qualification in construction. The tutor is responsible for inducting learners, tracking progress and delivering training as per the requirements of the awarding body. There will also be an expectation that the successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding and liaising with representatives from the local council and other internal and external stakeholders.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a construction background with teaching experience. Ideally you will have a diploma in education, Cert ed or equivalent or be willing to work towards one of these qualifications.
You will be energetic, and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude. You must also have a passion for helping often disadvantage young people. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model who can organise and motivate young learners with a range of abilities. You must also be able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and be passionate about personal improvement through continued professional development.

For the right candidate there may be an opportunity to fit the hours around our staffs’ personal commitments as long as they fit the needs of the organisation, such as dropping off or collecting your own children from school and making up the time at home, our students are in 9.30 until 2.30 so there is the opportunity for this. All our roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
