As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management Data Analytics Instrument Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Within this role, you will work as a senior developer in the capacity of an Individual Contributor, leveraging your deeply evolved coding skills to build and develop one of the most important platforms within Wealth Management. While you would be encouraged to share technical knowledge and mentor juniors, Individual Contributor is not a people management position, from an HR perspective. Job responsibilities Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Proactively identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture. Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies. Mentors team members and develops strategic solutions and practices that enhance the team experience. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience. Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Proficiency in Java/J2EE and REST APIs, Web Services and experience in building event-driven Micro Services and Kafka streaming Experience in Spring Framework and AWS Services in public cloud infrastructure. Experience in RDBMS and NOSQL databases. Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods. Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight. Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills An AWS certification is preferred, but not a pre-requisite. Experience in PERF testing and turning as well as shift left practices.
