We’re looking for an enthusiastic and skilled SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our learners. Your Role as SEN HLTA As a key member of our team, you will deliver tailored support to students with conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Delays, and other complex needs. Working alongside teachers and the SENCO, you’ll provide both group and one-on-one interventions, contributing significantly to each student’s progress and success. Key Responsibilities Support Learning : Deliver high-quality support during lessons, including leading group activities and stepping in to facilitate learning when the teacher is unavailable. Individualized Assistance : Provide tailored support to small groups and individual students, adapting your methods to suit their unique needs. Collaborative Planning : Assist teachers in designing differentiated lesson plans that ensure accessibility for all learners. Monitor Progress : Track student achievements and collaborate with staff, parents, and the SENCO to refine learning strategies. Promote Inclusion : Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where students feel respected, confident, and motivated. Behavioral Support : Implement effective behavior management techniques to maintain a calm and productive learning environment. IEPs and Interventions : Support the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Plans and other targeted strategies in partnership with the SENCO and external specialists. Safeguarding : Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to school policies on child protection and safeguarding. What We’re Looking For Experience : Proven ability to work with children with SEN, ideally in a specialist or inclusive educational setting. Qualifications : HLTA certification or equivalent, with strong knowledge of SEN support strategies. Skills : Exceptional interpersonal skills, patience, and adaptability to engage with students with varied and complex needs. Commitment : A proactive approach to promoting inclusive education and safeguarding student welfare. Organization : Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and respond effectively to dynamic classroom needs. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, PMLD, or other complex learning challenges. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and differentiated teaching practices. Relevant qualifications in SEN education or child development (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant).
