The role
We are seeking a rockstar Tech Lead – AWS Architect to join our core team and take ownership of the technology behind our B2C platform, used by 100,000s of customers monthly. Your primary focus will be to build a scalable, robust, and secure backend system that powers our platform. You will oversee architecture design, lead a distributed engineering team, and directly contribute critical parts of the codebase.
As our engineering lead, you will translate our business strategies into product and technical requirements, in close collaboration with the Product Manager and the wider business team, including the CEO.
What you’ll do
* Backend Architecture & Development: Architect and implement backend systems and APIs using Python and modern frameworks. Write maintainable, scalable, and testable code.
* Infrastructure & DevOps: Design and maintain a secure, highly available AWS infrastructure. Implement CI/CD pipelines, manage containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes or Docker Swarm), and configuration management (Ansible).
* Systems & Security: Ensure system reliability by monitoring, upgrading, and optimizing Linux/Ubuntu hosts. Implement robust security measures, managing IAM roles, permissions etc.
* Data Infrastructure: Work extensively with MongoDB and Mongoose to design efficient schemas and ensure seamless data flow.
* Integration & Third-Party Services: Integrate external APIs and services into our backend ecosystem. Collaborate with the front-end team to ensure smooth data consumption.
* Technical Leadership: Distribute tasks, conduct code reviews, drive process improvements, and help shape our distributed engineering team by participating in hiring decisions.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and external stakeholders to translate business goals into technical solutions that are both scalable and efficient.
Who you are
Technical skills:
* 10+ years of backend engineering experience within data-intensive technology companies. Preferably in fintech, ideally relating to credit.
* Experience managing cloud infrastructure. We’re on AWS & GCP, using EC2, Lambda, S3, Docker etc.
* Experience with both relational and document databases. We use Postgres/BigQuery and MongoDB/Mongoose.
Soft skills:
* Leadership skills. You’re excited to get stuck into building an engineering team within a multicultural, distributed environment, and have exceptional communication skills.
* Business mindset. You care to know how the code you write serves customers.
* Scrappy. You like moving fast, rolling up your sleeves and getting Sh*t done.

Selection process
We’ve been on the other side of the table: companies who waste your time, job offers that don’t materialise, and technical tasks that don’t get reviewed.
So here’s our process:
1. 30 min intro call with Dima – Growth Lead.
2. 30 min technical screening with Henrique – Product Lead (B2C).
3. Face-to-Face interview in the office with the Founders and our whole team.
