We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a vibrant school. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment. This role begins March 2025.
Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEND.
* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons and learning materials.
* Support students with their emotional, social, and academic development.
* Encourage independence and confidence in learning activities.
* Help manage behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
* Support with personal care needs (if required).
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals as needed.
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
* Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
