Senior or Principal Fire Engineer - Belfast
My client is a trusted independent advisory firm focused on fire, façade engineer, security risk and resilience. They offer strategic advice, innovative design, construction oversight and risk management services.
A Senior Fire Engineer is an experienced consultant that has provided specialist fire-related information for a range of different projects across the built environment and at different stages of the project life cycle.
Role Brief:
1. Lead large complex projects as project engineer - A Senior or Principal Fire Engineer is expected to take the lead role on large complex projects at all stages of the project cycle, which includes the construction phase and deal with the day to day running of the project from a technical and non-technical point of view.
2. Practice/apply fire assurance services with minimal support - You will be able to undertake site visits during construction to determine if the fire strategy is being implemented correctly.
3. Successfully project manage - You will be able to successfully project manage small – medium size projects from start to finish to ensure my client’s projects are delivered to a high quality, on time, within budget and achieving the client’s KPIs.
4. Generating work-winning & maintaining effective working relationships - You will have effective verbal, written and face to face skills with key stake holders to form new relationships, but also maintain them by offering the best client service possible.
A senior fire engineer will also be capable of work winning and developing their own portfolio to provide diverse projects and support the region.
5. Develop technical abilities in your region and contribute to companywide technical excellence - A senior engineer will not only contribute to the technical excellence within the region to ensure the best services are offered to our clients, but also to help their team to develop technically and work towards their career path.
6. Coaching & Mentoring - You will be able to successfully coach and mentor those less senior within their regions, and the wider team. This will involve working with engineers on a range of different projects and support them on their approach to the projects.
7. Provide Consultancy services that focus on successful outcomes for our clients in an ethical manner - You will be responsible for giving measured and considered technical advice in a timely manner that is clearly understandable to clients to help inform them to make decisions.
Requirements
8. An Engineering Council accredited BEng Hons or MEng or MSc
9. Associate Member of IFE
10. Working on plan to become Chartered status with a body such as Engineering Council (EC), RICS or CABE
11. Solid technical understanding of the role of a fire engineer in the design team and scope of services throughout the various stages of building design, construction and occupation.
12. Have the ability to lead multiple projects concurrently, working to tight deadlines and successful project management skills
