Job summary The Wakefield 0-19 Service have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with advanced specialist knowledge and skills to join our team as a Service Manager supporting our Health Visitors, School Nurses and Family Nurse Partnership with service delivery. This role will be an integral part of the Wakefield 0-19 (Growing Healthy) Service, and will work directly with the Head of Children's Public Health Nursing and Operations to provide operational leadership and management for clinical and non-clinical services. The post holder will ensure caring, inclusive and compassionate leadership to staff within the geographic locality, as a part of the wider children's portfolio of the Children and Young People's Public Health Directorate. The post holder will be a key point of contact with external partners such as Commissioners, GPs and the ICB, Local Authority, Education and Community Groups in relation to highly complex, and sometimes contentious service-related information. Acting as a point of escalation to ensure the delivery of Service and address issues which impact upon this. Main duties of the job This role is a strategic lead position to ensure the delivery of a high quality and safe Service to Children, Young People and their families, undertaken through assurance of effective safeguarding, audit, quality and governance, and education. The postholder will work in collaboration to support delivery of performance, meeting targets and the service specification requirements, through the overseeing of resource allocation, line management to ensure well engaged and high performing teams, and budget management.
