Assistant Accountant Hours : 21 - 35 per week - Flexible working hours/Hybrid working Contract : Temporary Maternity Cover Salary : £31,000 to £35,000 depending on qualification and experience pro rata Location: Flexible location - inclusive of home working, our head office in Pontypool and/or other offices across Gwent Purpose of post: Day to day support of the finance functions alongside the Management Accountant Key Responsibities: Manage the organisation's Grants funds, including providing internal and external reporting and overseeing all postings on a fund-by-fund basis Central costs reconcilliation and journals posted, or accruals & prepayments done as required Support the Management Accountant with production of all aspects of the Management Accounts Manage the balance sheet reconciliations Collaborate with the wider Finance Team to ensure the delivery of a high quality and comprehensive service to the organisation Facilitate the active participation of Manager's across the organisation in understanding their financial data Continuosly monitor and review fianance policies and processes and implement changes where necessary, ensuring these reflect Cyfannol Women's Aid's needs and culture Support the Assistant Accountant and other colleagues and help grow processes & procedures to ensure the smooth running of the finance department Any other adhoc financial matters that arise month on month where cross departmental cover is required It may be necessary, following consultation, to amend the job description in light of experience and changing circumstances A current, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this role.
