We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide high quality administrative support within the Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC). As part of a small, dynamic team you will help to ensure the smooth running of the OVC which is responsible for supporting the Vice Chancellor and the university’s executive team in the leadership and management of the University.
The post requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be proactive, flexible, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Based at our Waterside Campus you will be joining our welcoming team who work collaboratively to ensure comprehensive and seamless support to the OVC. The post is full time, 37 hours per week, with the opportunity to work in a blended working model, mixing on-site (at least 3 days per week) and off-site working where appropriate.

About You
You will have previous experience in an administrative or clerical role in a professional setting ideally with experience in diary management, committee administration and planning and organisation of events.
You will have the ability to communicate calmly, professionally and effectively with a diverse group of people at all levels, both inside and outside the organisation, approaching confidential matters with tact and diplomacy.
You will be required to demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to your work with the ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
Qualification
Essential:
* GCSEs or Equivalent in English and Maths

The Office of the Vice Chancellor provides executive and officer support for the Vice Chancellor and the executive team, which includes the Chief Operating Officer & Deputy Vice Chancellor and the Pro Vice Chancellor (Education and Student Experience), ensuring appropriate management and leadership of the institution can be effectively undertaken.
Right to work
All candidates will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the UK during the interview process. The University is open to considering Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, provided that the eligibility criteria of the points-based immigration system are met.
