As the lead Physiotherapist in the neurology pathway you will provide management, leadership and clinical input into this pivotal service with a community first approach.
You will form part of the Dudley Rehabilitation Service leads managing a small team of Physiotherapists delivering rehabilitation in patient homes, outpatient and in group settings.
Working with MDT is key and we are fortunate to have Occupational therapists, Dieticians, Speech and Language therapists, Therapy Assistants Practitioners, Nurses and Pharmacy as part of the wider team.
Main duties of the job
To be the lead Physiotherapist in neuro rehabilitation and jointly lead the neuro pathway within Dudley Rehabilitation Service. You will be an expert resource in the provision of evidence based assessment and care for the management of neuro patients, working alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide an effective and efficient rehabilitation service.
To provide highly specialist physiotherapy in outpatient and domiciliary settings to patients who have had a neurological condition.
To provide specialist knowledge, training, advice and support to colleagues, patients and their carers about neuro rehabilitation.
To provide leadership, training, supervision and appraisal for more junior staff.
To work collaboratively with the inpatient neuro services in Dudley to ensure a seamless transition of care. To be involved in evaluation and audits to help develop DRS and the Neurological services in Dudley.
To be an independent practitioner managing a caseload of patients including those with complex needs, carrying out assessments, therapy, and evaluation of interventions.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* BSc degree in physiotherapy
* Registered with HCPC
* Masters level qualification or modules or sufficient comparable experience of advance therapy practice
Experience
* Experience of effectively managing complex patients with a variety of conditions such as frailty, falls, existing long-term conditions and multiply comorbidities
* Comprehensive experience of multi-disciplinary working
* Experience of Student and junior staff supervision
* Experience of community working
* Involvement in research and/or clinical evaluation and audit

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to build effective working relationships and work in a team
