Registered Children's Home Manager
Location: Central Manchester
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (DoE)
Annual Leave: 28 days + Bank Holidays
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week (Flexibility required for occasional out-of-hours contact & sleep-in duties)
Our client is seeking an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a 2-bedded home in Central Manchester, rated 'Good' by Ofsted. This is an opportunity for an existing Registered Manager or a Deputy Manager ready for the next step. You will be responsible for the home's staff, resources, and ensuring a high standard of care in line with Children's Homes Regulations & Quality Standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the staff team, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
2. Oversee safeguarding, risk assessments, and care planning
3. Supervise, mentor, and develop staff teams
4. Ensure compliance with all Ofsted and regulatory requirements
5. Manage budgets and operational procedures
Requirements
1. Qualifications:
Level 3/4 Diploma in Children & Young People in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
Full UK driving license
2. Experience & Skills:
2+ years in a residential children's home, with experience in a management role
Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations & Social Care Inspection Framework
Ability to lead and develop staff teams
Experience managing young people with complex behavioural needs
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
