At Together Stronger Care, we are passionate about creating a warm and welcoming space for young people aged 8 - 18 years.
Together Stronger provides a positive environment for young people who have suffered some sort of trauma in their early years, such as sexual, physical, or emotional abuse or neglect. The home environments strive to create a secure base, from which young people may experience stable and positive relationships and progress in their social and emotional development.
The Home Manager is responsible for undertaking the statutory requirements as Home Manager for children’s care homes in accordance with the Regulation and Inspection of Care (Wales) Act (2016) and for delivering high-quality care home services to provide positive outcomes for children within the care of the Local Authorities.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure services are fully compliant with regulatory requirements and provide high-quality residential care for the children and young people in our care.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Effective day-to-day running of the residential home.
2. Managing a team of staff and work allocations.
3. Undertaking direct work with children in the residential home when necessary.
4. Overseeing all aspects of the residential premises.
Qualifications
1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in residential care, two of which must be at management level.
2. Experience of assessment, care planning, and review.
3. Evidence of partnership working and competence in identifying and maintaining purposeful networks and collaborative arrangements.
Qualifications/Professional Membership
1. Working towards Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
2. Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
3. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
Knowledge
1. Detailed understanding of the Childcare Regulations in Wales.
2. Understanding of a variety of different therapeutic models.
Special Requirements
1. Willing to work unsocial hours, flexible, and self-motivated.
2. Full UK driving licence.
Skills and Ability
1. Ability to work within agreed systems and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
2. Ability to support, manage, and develop staff effectively and promote effective relationships with a range of professionals and young people.
3. Ability to work under pressure and cope with the unexpected, responding calmly to emotive problems and seeking appropriate support and solutions.
4. Able to write comprehensive, clear, concise, and accurate records and reports to facilitate decision-making.
