We are currently recruiting for a Test Facility Technician to join our Light Turbines Workshop team in Dyce, Aberdeen. This position is required to control the asset integrity, availability, and quality associated with delivering mechanical integrity and performance test services for the EthosEnergy Light Turbines Ltd range of turbines within the test facility, and to contribute to the vision of creating fast, dependable and safe customer tests.
Job Responsibilities
* The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the test facility procedural and operational sub-systems.
* Ensure the work area is clean and tidy at all times and regularly audited.
* Implement and uphold safe working practices and QHSE standards at all times.
* Provide assistance with the planning, installation, setup, and manning of tests/jobs, identifying facility needs.
* Carry out uplift and delivery of engines to and from the test facility.
* Responsible for the planning and implementation of the installation, performance testing, and removal, on both gas and liquid fuels, for Industrial Gas Generators and Power Turbines serviced in the EthosEnergy Light Turbines Facility.
* Comply with test cell procedures whilst ensuring all associated documentation is accurately completed.
* Identifying and reporting possible defects throughout the testing process.
* Carry out planned maintenance activities on all Test Facility plant and ancillaries.
* Maintain and calibrate all turbine skid and ancillary equipment.
* Assist with upgrades/improvements to test facility equipment.
* Support with maintenance, monitoring, and completion in line with targets and schedules.
Required Skills / Knowledge
* Understanding of the principles of operation of an industrial gas turbine.
* Basic understanding of control theory and the programs used within the test facility to control all the equipment.
* High sense of responsibility.
* Customer Service Ethic, with focus on excelling both internal and external customer satisfaction.
* Team Player and ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to install confidence and lead by example.
* Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to interpret data and process it in a methodological manner.
Experience
* Capable of interpreting functional schematic drawings for all systems within the test facility including P&IDs, Control and Electrical Schematics.
* Experience with control theory and the programs used within the test facility.
* Comprehensive fault finding capability on all systems within the test facility.
Education Requirements
* Modern apprentice qualified in a mechanical/electrical/control discipline, which requires the following qualifications: NVQ Level II and III, or City & Guilds equivalent.
