Role: Head of Provision - Specialist SEMH and Autism Hub Location: Tavistock Salary: L10 - L16 Contract: Full time, permanent Start: June 2025 (sooner if possible) Are you an experienced leader passionate about shaping specialist education for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and autism? We are looking for a Head of Provision to lead a brand-new specialist hub in Tavistock, Devon. This innovative setting is designed to support students with emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) and anxiety linked to autism, offering them a tailored, nurturing and structured environment to help them thrive. About the role: As Head of Provision, you will be at the forefront of establishing and leading this specialist education hub, which will support up to 30 pupils from Year 3 to Year 11, all with EHCPs. You will shape the vision, develop strategic plans and create a positive learning environment that fosters academic, social and emotional growth. Key responsibilities: Lead and Inspire: Provide strategic direction and operational leadership, ensuring a high-quality provision Develop Tailored Strategies: Implement innovative approaches to support students with SEMH and autism Manage Daily Operations: Oversee staffing, budgets and regulatory compliance to maintain excellence in provision Create a Supportive Culture: Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment where students feel safe and empowered Engage with Stakeholders: Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, local authorities and external agencies Drive Continuous Improvement: Use data and evidence-based strategies to enhance student outcomes and staff development What we’re looking for: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant postgraduate qualifications Substantial leadership experience within SEMH or SEN settings A deep understanding of emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), autism and mental health support Strong organisational and strategic planning abilities, with a track record of positive change management Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with parents, professionals and external agencies Why join this provision?
