Contract Call for Submissions – Advertising Exhibitions
The Postcard Project acts as a vehicle for young and emerging artists and creatives to express themselves and showcase their work to leading figures in the art world.
Advertising Exhibitions UK is arranging its first show in London in summer 2013, titled Lines, at The Strand Gallery and would like your help:
We are asking for works A5 and under to be conceived and sent to us to act as an archive of emerging artists' work happening now. An online gallery will be made available so everyone will be able to see your work, and the originals will either be sent to our high-profile guest list inviting them to the exhibition, which is in aid of The Prince’s Foundation for Children and The Arts, thus gaining you huge exposure, or exhibited.
There will also be a dedicated exhibition for these small works in central London during the summer of 2013, and we are in negotiations with major exhibition spaces for this at the moment. We accept all work as long as it can be hung on a wall.
The theme of Lines is ‘practice and process’, showing artworks alongside sketches and sketchbooks that communicate the ongoing thought processes of artists and showcase the links between differing artistic practices and disciplines.
Please make sure you add your name, title of the postcard if you wish to give it one, and an accessible online portfolio/contact details (so we and other people can find you) and send it in an envelope to:
Advertising Exhibitions states that this opportunity is exempt from the national minimum wage.
If you have any inquiries, please do not hesitate to ask by emailing jack@advertisingexhibitions.co.uk, and we’ll let you know when the gallery goes online and update you with everything that is happening with the project.
