Reed Accountancy currently partnered with a growing Wokingham based company as they seek an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team. This is a full time, permanent role working in a team of 4 and reporting into the Finance Director, this role will be integral to supporting with the daily duties of the accounts team alongside supporting the FD with month end duties, including the preparation of financial statements and supporting with audit. Duties for the role include; Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Perform bank reconciliations, supplier and customer account reconciliations, and reconcile balance sheet accounts. Process invoices, payments, and manage accounts payable and receivable. Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Help analyse financial data to identify discrepancies and variances. Prepare and maintain financial documentation and records. This role is best suited to a candidate with experience of working within a small team across varying accounting duties. You must be comfortable with taking accounts to trial balance and supporting junior members of the team with daily queries. Knowledge of Sage 50 or Sage 200 would be advantageous along with strong Excel skills. This is a great opportunity for someone AAT level 4 (or QBE) looking to take the next step in their career.
