Main duties of the job The duties of this post are equivalent to Speciality Registrar ST3 level. Based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, the Clinical Neuroscience service caters to South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Lincolnshire, and North Nottinghamshire, serving over 2.2 million people. Detailed job description and main responsibilities As a Senior Clinical Fellow, you will play a pivotal role in patient care, working collaboratively with senior and junior stroke fellows, neurology trainees, and advanced clinical practitioners. Supported by experienced consultants with accessible supervision, you will be empowered to work with a degree of autonomy, enhancing your clinical expertise and decision-making skills. In addition to your work on the Hyperacute Stroke Unit, you will have regular responsibilities in managing patients presenting with stroke/transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and other neurological conditions. The role also includes participation in the on-call rota, currently a 1-in-5 weekend commitment, with compensatory time off during the week. Our department places a strong emphasis on clinical research, teaching, and quality improvement, making this an ideal role for candidates keen to develop their academic or leadership profile. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria • Registered with the GMC with a licence to practise.
