Salary: £16,500 to £19,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a secondary school in Gosport.
In this role, you will support students with SEN and challenging behaviour, assisting them both in the classroom and during interventions. As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work closely with the class teacher, taking small groups of students for focused support when needed, helping to create a positive and productive learning environment.
This is a varied and dynamic role, with the opportunity to make a real difference in students’ educational experiences. A permanent contract will be offered after the successful completion of the probation period. LSA Responsibilities:
* Support students with SEN and challenging behaviour both in the classroom and during small group interventions.
* Work closely with the class teacher to ensure students are engaged and making progress.
* Assist with the preparation of lesson materials and resources for students.
* Provide targeted support to students with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum.
* Monitor and track the progress of students and provide feedback to the teaching staff.
* Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills in a supportive environment.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, adhering to the school’s behaviour policies.
* Provide one-to-one support for students when required to address individual needs.
Requirements for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
* Previous experience working with students with SEN or challenging behaviour as a Learning Support Assistant or similar is preferred.
* CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is preferred but not essential.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach when dealing with students with diverse needs.
* A genuine passion for supporting students and helping them achieve their full potential.
* Ability to follow instructions and implement tailored support strategies.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.
