The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Air Solutions team as Heating and Air Conditioning Engineer. Our Air Solutions team is responsible for helping to develop and grow the UK business in line with LG’s strategies and objectives.
As Heating and Air Conditioning Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the Technical Helpdesk, which includes both phone and email enquiries, as well as supporting the Technical Support Leader in day to day operations.
Your Role & Responsibilities
* Provide Technical Support to Trades people, helping them with product enquiries, and most importantly, able to provide step by step trouble shooting guidance, helping them to identify the possible cause of any issues they may have
* Able to read and understand system Wiring and Schematic Diagrams, whilst giving support to engineers on site
* Ability to identify system components, from a caller’s description of a part they require, provide them with the Part Number from our Spare Parts System, that they need to order
* Able to work as part of the Technical Team, and independently when necessary, offering solutions for external and internal customers
* The position is primarily office based, but may include occasional site visits to support our customers with technical issues where necessary
* You will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the Technical Helpdesk, which includes both phone and email enquiries, as well as supporting the Service Manager when needed.
* Diagnose technical issues and provide timely solutions
* Document customer interactions and troubleshooting steps in our system.
* Stay up-to-date with product changes and updates
Skills, Education & Experience
* A minimum of 5 years field experience working and troubleshooting on the following types of HVAC Products:
* Residential type Single-Split, Cooling & Heating Air Conditioning systems [RAC Products]
* Commercial type Single-Split, Cooling & Heating, Air Conditioning system [CAC Products]
* Multi-Split type, Cooling & Heating Air Conditioning Products
* VRF type Heat Pump, and Heat Recovery Products
* Total Heat Recovery Ventilation Products
* Packaged Inverter Scroll Heat Pump Chillers
* Control Systems including:
* Single and Group Local Controls
* Centralised System Controls
* Interface Controls for 3rd Party Devices (e.g. BMS)
* Supporting our Air to Water Heat Pumps [AWHP] products. Understanding the various types of system available, i.e. Monobloc’s, Split Type, etc., with the pros and cons of each type. Providing Technical Support to Installers and Service Engineers working on these systems, as and when they require it
* A basic understanding of Hydraulic circuits associated with AWHP & Chiller systems, and fundamental items required
* Strong communication with the ability to communicate clearly with Consumers, Direct and Indirect Trade Members, plus our Distribution and Service Partners
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong problem-solving abilities
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, eg Excel
