Information about the Course (Description):
As the world emerges from recent economic disruptions, the evolving scope of product development presents unique opportunities for product designers and engineers, with rapid prototyping a top contender. The MIT xPRO Rapid Prototyping Methodologies for Commercial Application program imparts an intimate understanding of product performance, fewer design iterations, and enhanced early understanding of scaling and manufacturability issues. The course will provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to rapid prototyping technology and its various applications across industries. It will offer participants an intensive coverage of techniques and strategies that enable optimal use of rapid prototyping technology in product design and manufacturing. By the end of the course participants will know how to map the attribute set of the desired product to the attribute set of a concept prototype that replicates the desired product's look, feel, and functionality.
