About us | He kupu mo matou: Located in scenic South Canterbury, which is rapidly becoming a lifestyle choice, our Clandeboye site is Fonterra’s largest manufacturing site, with 11 plants processing, at peak up to 13 million litres of milk per day. We employ over 1,200 people across the value stream all bringing a diverse range of skills, expertise and thought to our operation.
About the opportunity | Mo tenei turanga: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee, coach and develop a close-knit and engaged team to deliver outstanding results in our powder plant operation. The size, scale, and dynamic nature of our plant operation is a fast-paced and exciting environment to work in. You will also have the opportunity to work with others to influence team culture and drive change.
Keeping a strong focus on Health & Safety, you’ll monitor and manage all parts of our processing Plant while optimising plant efficiency and operating costs. Your strong attention to detail will ensure you can keep an eye on quality control while maintaining products to tight customer specifications and ensuring documentation is up to date.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Planning and allocating work and resources to ensure production targets are met and optimised, while identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
2. Leading and motivating the team as well as providing feedback on staff performance, development plans, and resolving people issues when required.
3. Managing time and attendance systems.
4. Creating a successful working environment that inspires the team.
5. Working and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Participating and leading problem solving.
Our operations supervisors work a rotating rostered shift pattern of 2 days, 2 nights (12 hours) followed by 4 rostered days off.
About you | Ko wai koe: We’re looking for an up-and-coming or extraordinary people leader who thrives in a fast-moving and innovative environment. We want to hear from you if you are driven, self-motivated, have a passion for people and have the following:
1. Exposure to leading, developing, coaching, and motivating a team to deliver outstanding results.
2. Excellent communication, relationship management, and interpersonal skills to drive change.
3. A passion for problem solving and continuous improvement.
4. A strong Health and Safety, Hygiene, and Quality focus.
5. Knowledge of operational best practices and industry standards.
6. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound and timely decisions under pressure.
7. Ability to learn new systems and tech-savvy skills in MS Suite and ideally SAP.
