Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Primary School)
Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester
Salary: 90-105 per day
Contract Type: Term Time Only
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wythenshawe. This role involves providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support children with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
* Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.
* Promote positive behaviour and social development.
* Provide emotional and pastoral support to children.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, SEND qualification) is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting learning.
* A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
