Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team on a short term bank/ad hoc basis. This is a great opportunity to gain some valuable experience in a Hospice setting.
About us
Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice is in the heart of Headingley, Leeds. We provide expert palliative care at a time when people need this the most. We support you when you are living with a life-limiting condition, and also help your loved ones and family. We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with other emotional, practical and spiritual support. We are able to provide care in our inpatient unit and our CNS team are on hand to visit people and provide care for people in their own home.

Job responsibilities
To assess service user needs and to develop an appropriate person centred treatment programme to meet individual needs.
Liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy.
Apply specialised knowledge and research to initiate innovative clinical projects that counter occupational risk factors and maintain function and quality of life.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma / BSC (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (OT)
* Registered with Health and Care Professionals Council
* Experience of working in a relevant setting
* Use of evidence based practice
* Specialist knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions using expert level clinical reasoning
* An ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to occupational performance
