The successful candidate will be able to choose which of the 4 SYICB bases is most suitable for them (Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham).
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual who wants to take the next step in their career and gain some valuable experience working within an ICB.
The role is covering temporary absence within the finance team and is focused across the Continuing Healthcare and Mental Health workstreams.
This role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience at a higher level or for someone looking for commissioner experience.
You will be a fully qualified accountant who has excellent analytical and technical skills which will be vital to provide detailed reporting around changes to patient and financial information particularly to support the delivery of efficiency schemes within the ICB.

Main duties of the job
* Leading the Continuing Healthcare workstream including management of a small team of staff.
* Preparation of accurate and timely month-end management accounts including accruals, prepayments, and forecast outturn adjustments.
* Use of financial and clinical systems to process and analyse large volumes of data including looking at trends and explanation of changes and variances.
* Provision of financial support relating to the ICB’s efficiency schemes.
* Liaison with Continuing Healthcare Clinical team within the ICB and Local Authorities on a regular basis.

Job responsibilities
* Working within the Finance team; the post holder will also work effectively across the ICB in a multidisciplinary environment and regularly liaise with other organisations across the region.
* Produce month-end accounts and reports, for a designated portfolio, contributing to the total accounts of the ICB, including forecasting to the end of the financial year, by analysing complex trends, reconciling the general ledger, calculation and input of accruals and forecasts to the accounting system, cost centre reviews and other month-end queries. Investigate variances from budgets as required and provide advice and take corrective action.
* Plan own workload to ensure deadlines in monthly, quarterly, and annual finance timetables are met and support the team to ensure all reporting deadlines for the team are achieved.
