Job Description – Finance Assistant

The role
The firm is seeking a Finance Assistant to contribute to the Company’s growth and success. If you are passionate about progressing your career in Finance, and getting stuck in and supporting our businesses growth, this will be a great opportunity for you to develop your accounting skills and work closely with our Senior Financial Accountant. You will work closely with various entities across the business and also play a key role in streamlining processes and supporting the Group.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who have 1-3 years’ experience in a finance assistant role. The successful candidate would have ideally worked in financial services. This role would be a new addition to the team, so duties may be adapted in line with the needs of the business.
The role is office based in London and is available immediately. However, consideration will be given to accommodate the timeline of the right candidate.
Core Responsibilities
* Manage the finance inbox and ensure timely responses to inquiries.
* Processing purchase invoices and preparing the payment run
* Reconciliation of supplier accounts, expenses, credit cards and bank accounts
* Raising sales invoices for clients
Additional Support Responsibilities
* Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist in preparation of month end and internal reporting
* Assisting with monthly financial close requirements.
* Assist in ad-hoc General Ledger account postings including but not limited to: Payroll, Pension, Finance Leases.
* Assist in preparing and monitoring the monthly Cash Flow reports.
* Assist in the monthly forecasting process.
* Assist in the preparation of VAT and Tax returns.
Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
* Keen to learn and progress within the finance team
* Experience of Xero or accounting software is preferable
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Analytical in approach and strong attention to detail
* Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
