Housing Adviser for HILDA Project - Dalkeith & District Citizens Advice Bureau
Fixed term to end of January 2026 (extension contingent on funding availability).
The postholder will organise and deliver the HILDA project (Housing Information Local Development Advice) – providing holistic advice and information to people facing concerns related to housing or homelessness and at risk of financial hardship. The service will be delivered via phone, email, at the Bureau, and through outreach clinics in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Organise and deliver the HILDA project.
2. Provide holistic advice and information related to housing and homelessness.
3. Deliver services via phone, email, and in-person outreach.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience of advice-giving.
2. Understanding of housing issues and ways to resolve them.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Knowledge of the UK and Scottish benefit systems.
5. Commitment to the mission and values of Citizens Advice.
The post is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund Cost of Living Fund.
