Description The full-time starting salary is normally £52,996.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £57,602.00 per annum. Grade: USL Full Time, Permanent. We invite applications to join our integrated teaching and research teams at Birmingham City University’s College of the Built Environment at Senior Lecturer level. Building on continuous success in student growth and in sustained advancement of research activities, the College has embarked on a programme of extensive expansion funded by substantial long-term investment. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in at least in one of the following areas: Urban Development Digital Built Environment Construction and Civil Engineering You will become the Course Leader and lead the new MRes scheme in the College of Built Environment, due to be launched in September 2025, be responsible for contributing to the design and development of high quality, up-to-date modules in Urban Development and/or Digital Built Environment and related disciplines, supervise MRes students projects, while providing an excellent student experience. You will also conduct high quality research leading to publications in leading academic journals, develop bids and partnerships for research funding. You will have a PhD in either Urban Development, Digital Built Environment or Construction or in a related area or equivalent industrial experience (typically demonstrated by Chartered status), have significant experience in leading Postgraduate Courses, ideally at PGR level and have high-level knowledge, skill, and relevant academic expertise. You will have the ability to teach core Urban Development and/or Digital Built Environment modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level and possess excellent presentation and teaching skills. Eligible for Chartered Engineer status with a suitable for your discipline professional body. For this role we will consider applicants both with an industry and/or a research background. Chartered status with an appropriate professional body, industry experience as a UK-based consultant or contractor, and higher education teaching experience would be desirable.
