We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of D&T specialisms, including resistant materials, product design, electronics, and textiles. We have well-equipped workshops and studios with access to the latest technologies and resources.
About the Role:
* Teach Resistant Materials across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest.
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
* Guide and support students in using a range of tools, equipment, and materials to design and create products.
* Encourage students to apply their knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes to solve real-world problems.
* Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
* Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our Resistant Materials curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
* Foster a love of Design & Technology in students, encouraging them to explore their creativity, develop their practical skills, and become innovative problem-solvers.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in D&T education.
Ideal Candidate:
* Holds QTS or equivalent.
* Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Resistant Materials.
* Demonstrates a passion for teaching D&T and a commitment to student success.
* Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
* Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for D&T.
* Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
