Our client, Scottish Power, is looking for a Senior Reward Consultant to join their team at Scottish Power HQ in Glasgow (hybrid).
This is a contract role approved for 12 months.
Responsibilities include:
1. Lead the delivery of key activities within the annual reward cycle, including performance management, merit, and bonus cycles.
2. Work with relevant areas of HR to support the development of pay negotiation strategies through the provision of technical advice on pay movements and cost modeling of proposed changes, and assist with the negotiation of pay and conditions where appropriate.
3. Provide consultancy and technical expertise across the businesses in relation to remuneration and benefits practices to enable the attraction, retention, motivation, and engagement of high-performing people.
4. Maintain a highly developed awareness of external market data to provide advice and guidance based on market trends.
5. Lead the delivery of reward-specific initiatives, ensuring that overall objectives and delivery timescales are met and that the cost and impact of initiatives are fully assessed.
6. Carry out effective job measurement to evaluate the relative weight of jobs and make recommendations on appropriate reward packages and best practices in organizational structure design.
7. Support the development of the company employee benefits program, including sourcing and designing new benefits, contract negotiation, and supplier reviews.
8. Manage and negotiate contracts with external consultants and third-party service providers while building strong working relationships.
9. Support annual group reward cycle processes to ensure delivery within agreed timescales.
10. Manage external and internal reporting requirements and ensure good governance of reward processes.
11. Keep up to date with best practices and external regulatory changes impacting the reward function.
12. Identify areas for improvement in current reward policies, processes, and procedures, develop solutions, and implement changes.
13. Provide remuneration and employee benefits consultancy to UK businesses, managers, employees, and HR colleagues.
14. Contribute to budget impact decisions that influence budget spend.
15. Work in a team of 8, reporting to the Head of Reward, who reports to the UK Director of HR Operations.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Proven ability to deliver strategic reward consultancy to a range of businesses.
2. Proven experience of leading the delivery of key reward cycle activities.
3. Trained in Hay Job Evaluation methodology with proven experience as an expert practitioner.
4. Experience in project managing the delivery of complex reward projects across a large organization.
5. Strong analytical skills to assess the cost and impact of changes.
6. Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
7. Experience in providing strategic reward consultancy to a complex business with different business units.
