We have a vacancy within our Manufacturing Department and are currently recruiting for the role of Setter/ Operator - Laser. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.
Shift Pattern: 39 hours per week working the Late Shift; 16.30 to 02.30 Monday to Wednesday and 16.30 to 01.30 Thursdays with designated.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities specific to the role.
* Use and control of Lasers in accordance with relevant procedures.
* Ability to read and understand CNC code to the level required for machine set up and operation.
* Understanding of and safe use of air tools and hand tools
* Understand all set up parameters and the effect that they have on the process.
* Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
* Complete laser cutting operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.
General responsibilities.
* Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and report any concerns to supervision.
* Read and understand the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be carried out.
* Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the Job Card is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.
* Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, this includes Machine and Tooling Set Up Packs as required, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, Inspection Plans etc.
* Use of all measuring equipment as necessary to check conformance to requirements.
* Carry out in process inspection in accordance with requirements to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.
* Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.
* Complete all work booking requirements within the MRP system to ensure accurate WIP records.
* Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.
* Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence.
* Carry out and record all TPM activities in accordance with the specified schedule for the equipment being operated.
* Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
* Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximise efficiency.
* Comply with all company procedures and policies.
Person Specification:
* 1/2 years’ experience in the Aerospace Industry/ Engineering/ Manufacturing/ a similar role is desirable
* Must become familiar with quality & manufacturing standards and maintain and achieve specified targets and objectives in line with business requirements
* Required to produce acceptable first offs — "right first time"
