The Opportunity
Are you passionate about shaping the future of energy?
As a Senior Strategy Analyst at EDF, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing strategic insight and analysis on the biggest challenges and opportunities in the energy sector.
Reporting to the Senior Strategy Manager, you’ll collaborate with experts across the business to develop data-driven recommendations that inform senior decision-makers and shape EDF’s long-term direction. You’ll also keep a close eye on the UK energy landscape, analysing competitor strategies and market trends to ensure EDF stays ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.
If you’re ready to make an impact and help drive the transition to a low-carbon future, this is your opportunity to be at the heart of EDF’s strategic thinking.
Pay, Benefits and Culture
We’re looking to offer the successful candidate a salary circa £54,640 DOE. Alongside your potential salary, we’re offering a competitive benefits package including a market-leading pension scheme and a range of flexible benefits to support our people across all aspects of their lives.
Flexible working means you can work from home (if you wish), and we’ll provide a suite of IT equipment to ensure that you can work remotely comfortably and effectively.
At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.
We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Strategy Analyst, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping EDF’s future in the UK energy market, using your analytical and strategic skills to tackle some of the industry’s biggest challenges. With a strong enthusiasm for helping Britain achieve Net Zero, you’ll work on high-impact projects, developing insights and recommendations that guide senior decision-makers and influence EDF’s long-term strategy.
You’ll lead workstreams on strategic initiatives, exploring key topics such as the hydrogen economy, heat decarbonisation, electric vehicles, and nuclear new build. You’ll develop a deep understanding of UK electricity and gas markets, tracking regulatory, political, and technological developments, and assessing their strategic implications for EDF.
Your ability to define and solve complex problems will be key, whether working independently or collaborating with experts across the business. You’ll deliver high-quality reports, briefing notes, and presentations, ensuring that your insights are communicated clearly and with impact—often to very senior audiences, including EDF’s UK Executive Team.
Beyond analysis, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining analytical tools that support market and strategic assessments, always looking for ways to enhance methodologies and improve the quality of insights. In a fast-moving environment, you’ll need to be flexible, responding to evolving business needs and providing strategic support to senior leaders as required.
Who You Are
To thrive in this role, you'll need a proactive, can-do attitude, a strategic mindset, and the ability to tackle complex challenges with confidence. You’ll be eager to learn, take initiative, and identify new opportunities and risks for the business. Working independently on loosely defined objectives won’t faze you—you’re adaptable, resilient under pressure, and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines. Collaboration is key, and you’ll build strong networks across EDF to leverage expertise and drive results.
Strong commercial, numerical, and analytical skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of business value drivers, financials, and strategic analysis techniques. You’ll have excellent presentation and influencing skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and communicating complex ideas with clarity and impact. Your ability to deliver concise, insightful reports and presentations will be crucial in shaping strategic decisions.
With experience in a relevant analytical function, you’ll bring either specialist expertise or broad knowledge of the energy value chain. A degree in economics, business, engineering, mathematics, or a related field is likely, though equivalent experience is equally valued. Familiarity with the UK energy sector, market mechanisms, and regulatory landscape will set you apart.
Closing Date for Applications: Sunday 23rd March
Location: We encourage our teams to work flexibly recognising the benefits of working in a diverse, collaborative office environment as well as the benefits of working from home and collaborating virtually.
Success is personal. It’s your journey, powered by us. Join us and we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero, together.
