As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Technical Sales/Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. Your new role will involve identifying new business opportunities with both new and existing customers across a range of industries, including Sand & Quarry, Recycling, Food, Renewables, Animal Feeds, Refrigeration, and Water & Waste Water. You will liaise with clients to understand their requirements, budget, and expectations, providing the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs. You will need to understand specifications, electrical schematics, block cable diagrams, and BOMs, and work within regulations to ensure health and safety, environmental, and other requirements are met. Providing accurate costings for clients and working closely with suppliers to achieve the best possible costings from the outset will be crucial. You will work on your own initiative to provide timely quotes and win new business with precision and attention to detail. Additionally, you will negotiate contract terms and conditions, strive for continuous improvements in quality, and assist other departments such as design, production, site installation, and technical support to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
What you’ll need to succeed is a minimum of an HNC in Electrical Engineering and at least three years of experience in a similar role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to communicate with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. A strong background in Industrial Electrical Installation and Electrical Control Systems is required, along with the ability to understand electrical specifications, schematics, drawings, block cable diagrams, and BOMs. Experience with a range of PLCs, HMIs, and Variable Speed Drives, as well as a good understanding of electrical standards, is necessary. You should be able to complete tender submissions and PQQs, have high attention to detail, and possess strong business acumen to understand project costs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to self-manage and prioritise to meet deadlines are also important. A positive attitude and a willingness to develop and learn new skills with on and off the job training will be beneficial. Project management experience and an understanding of our industries, such as Water & Waste Water, Food, Quarry & Recycling, and Refrigeration, are desirable.
