Project Engineer, Contractor
Purpose of the Role:
The Supply Optimization team is an established team that support the development of packaging materials, working collaboratively with our suppliers to assure material quality. This team is responsible for ensuring continuity of supply across our supply chains and work closely with Packaging Development Leads to onboard new suppliers.
We are offering a contractor position to someone who is looking to develop their skills in project management and technical material change projects. This role will also provide an opportunity for the right person to raise their profile whilst learning new and transferable skills. You will be supported by key individuals from the Packaging Development Team and have a clear set of objectives for the term of this role.
Requirements – Capabilities, Skills & Experience:
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, packaging or related field, with experience in the following areas: Packaging Development, Cross Functional Collaboration, Clear and Open Communication
* Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure packaging support is understood and aligned
* Experience of leading in a regional, international or global environment
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills across different international cultures.
* Ability to influence, persuade, convince. Ability to compromise, build consensus.
* Able to resolve conflicts.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provides leadership to support the delivery of supply driven projects.
* Leads a cross functional team to deliver projects resulting from changes within our supply chain (ie, new suppliers, changes to materials, production locations, etc)
* Provides supply input and commercial grounding during project development phases, driving resolution of commercialization hurdles that may arise.
* Manages project communications to the project sponsors, technical operations and the wider supply community.
* Utilize strong project management skills to develop and manage project timelines, address technical and resourcing challenges; ensure risk profiles and mitigation plans are developed and executed for each project.
* Bring creative solutions to commercialization challenges.
* Ensure projects are managed utilizing Diageo standard commercialization process.
* Build great relationship and clearly communicate within the project team, as well as externally to stakeholders.
* Ensure the project management roles and responsibilities are clear for supply optimization and that all cross functional partners are engaged.

You will be responsible for:
• Development of requirement specifications in collaboration with other teams such as Operations.
• Use specialist knowledge to deliver capex projects to correct technical specification.
• Development of cost estimates and project schedules.
• Managing efficient spend for capex projects.
• Co-ordinating and managing external resources.
• Manage the project lifecycle including capital approval, maintaining accurate financial data including spend and forecast and project closure.
• Manage construction activities and overseeing commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental standards.
As a temporary contractor, you'll be employed by our Managed Service Provider, Magnit Global, who manage most of our temporary contract hiring, you will not be employed by Diageo.
