Job summary The clinical lead for learning disability and autism will provide clinical leadership and advice to the LDA Programme Board and associated workstreams focused on improving the health and wellbeing outcomes for people with a learning disability and autistic people, of all ages, in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. In particular, the clinical lead will have and continue to develop close links with colleagues in NHS funded provider services. Main duties of the job - Work alongside ICB LDA Programme colleagues and members of the LDA Programme Board to drive service change and transformation to improve health outcomes for people with a learning disability and autistic people, of all ages, in Herefordshire and Worcestershire through effective clinical leadership and engagement. This may include developing approaches which are non-traditional in nature, ambitious and wide reaching in areas which incorporate the wider determinants that have an impact on improving clinical outcomes, better life outcomes and reducing health inequalities for this population. - Provide clinical leadership, insight, and challenge to how system partners address clinical system resilience, sustainability and positive outcomes, development improvement, and quality and safety of patient care. - Provide clinical advice and leadership to support strategic commissioning and transformation programmes emphasising clinical engagement; improving clinical resilience; removing unwarranted variation and health inequalities and promoting improvement in outcomes. - Lead appropriate clinical interactions with internal and external stakeholders, including in close collaboration with the LDA GP Advisor for GP member practices and primary care networks, fostering a culture of collaboration for the delivery of equitable, high-quality care. At times this will include acting as an 'honest broker' reconciling conflicting views and interests.
