We are seeking an outstanding, experienced clinical leader to join our team as Clinical Director, to implement our strategic objectives for our services for patients within our Radiology Directorate. The role presents an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established team of dedicated professionals.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will demonstrate strong clinical leadership and clinical engagement to ensure the on-going success and development of the Radiology Directorate. The Clinical Director will be a primary member of the Directorate Leadership Team, providing clinical oversight and input into delivery of high-quality clinical care and safety of services. The post holder will report to the Chief of Service for Core Clinical Services.
We are looking for someone with experience of clinical and leadership within services, providing a sound understanding and evidence of driving changes and improvements.
As Clinical Director you will work in conjunction with the General Manager and Head of Service to develop strong internal and external relationships. Internally the post holder will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team within the Directorate and Division and peers in other Directorates and other trust wide teams.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provision of strategic clinical input and ensuring appropriate advice to the Chief of Service, Chief Executive, Executive Directors and Trust Board
Manage and plan how services are delivered and contribute to the process of strategic planning, influencing and responding to organisational priorities. This will involve responsibility for agreeing an annual Directorate Service Plan, identifying service development priorities and working with the Chief of Service and other executives to align Directorate Service Plans with the Trust and wider Health Economy plans.
As part of the Trust’s Best Care Programme, the Best Flow work stream is focussed on improving Length of Stay, particularly in the non-elective pathways, across all specialties. The post holder is required to give medical leadership to this work stream in partnership with the Deputy Chief Operating Officer in order to continue to reduce non elective Length of Stay and all related organisational objectives relating to the Best Flow work stream.

1. Consultant registered with GMC

2. Senior clinician with experience of leading multiprofessional teams. Evidence of attendance at leadership or management course
3. Knowledge of the NHS in the acute and planned care sector with up to date knowledge of operational and clinical services.
