I am a middle-aged woman looking for a reliable, caring person to help me get me out into the community and provide some encouragement to carry out personal care tasks.
I am quite a quiet person but do enjoy being around people. I like arts and crafts, puzzles and when I can find nice places to go, taking my dog for a walk.
I suffer from Complex PTSD and I can disassociate. On bad days I struggle to get out of bed and need someone who would encourage me, gently to get things done.
With your help, I would really like to get out more, take my dog for a walk, explore other activities, help me find and learn a new course online. Someone with who is able to drive with their own car is essential for this role.
Experience of working and supporting people with mental health would be ideal, but not essential. I am looking for somebody who is understanding, empathic and supportive.
Duties include:
Transportation
Companionship
Prompt/remind when needed to undertake personal care tasks e.g reminders to shower/take medication
Helping me to set goals on personal care tasks.
Accessing social and leisure activities e.g. Walks, craft activities/art groups, etc
Support me to find and access educational courses
Candidate qualities:

Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the workplace
Reliable with good timekeeping
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Must be comfortable with pets
Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
Happy to work in a smoking environment
The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and
disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on
reasonable grounds
